```Charles Wesley Godwin Mesa Concert reviews
We're lucky Shinedown still plays small venues!
Charles Wesley Godwin's performance was absolutely fantastic! They incorporated songs from all four albums and their song written for the movie The Expendables - Diamond Eyes. Brent looks better than ever and gave every ounce of energy he had. Zach ripped it up, and Eric's bass lines were energetic, while Barry kept a great pace and performed flawlessly behind his set.
Having seen Charles Wesley Godwin four times, I was hoping Brent and the boys may have rubbed off on the opening acts - the crowds react stronger when you perform better rather than just yelling at them. Don鈥檛 get me wrong, I know it's Rock and Roll, but my little guy can sing EVERY Charles Wesley Godwin lyric. Fortunately, within seconds of Brent, Eric, Zack, and Eric taking the stage, he forgot all about Art of Dying and Adelitas Way's limited vocabulary.
I brought my wife and four kids ranging from 19 to 8 to see Charles Wesley Godwin. I forgot there were going to be opening acts that used the F-bomb as if it was necessary for the process of breathing to function properly! My 19-year-old son, whose choice in music is other than Rock and Roll - can't account for taste - was not only blown away by Charles Wesley Godwin. He clapped with a look of absolute awestruck appreciation whether they were performing Simple Man. He wants to see them again!
Art of Dying and Adelitas Way were both entertaining and worth another look. Lead singer appears to really believe in his abilities. Both could use a bit of expansion with their vocabulary. Singer for Adelitas Way is working to get better.
Really looking forward to seeing them again this summer at the Uproar Festival!!
